Lightweight Alloy Wheels and Tyres
The selection of alloy wheels is critical in achieving the right look, and more importantly the correct match to your suspension and steering characteristics.
All to often we see SAAB's fitted with alloy wheels that are the wrong offset (the ET number). Incorrect wheel offset makes the steering very camber sensitive and increases unwanted torque-steer behavior.
Wheel weight is another criteria to consider, most "cheap" alloy wheels are very heavy - this is defeating the object of fitting alloy wheels as the purpose of a lightweight wheel is to reduce the unsprung weight (any weight that is not carried on the suspension) of the car. Heavy wheels also reduce ride quality and decrease acceleration.
We have chosen a range of alloy wheels which achieve a balance of looks, cost, and performance. All the wheels we supply are machined by us to the correct pitch and offset for your SAAB application to ensure the steering and tyre clearance are correct under all load conditions.
Please bear in mind that when fitting sports alloy wheels with lower profile tyres, the clearance between the wheel arch and tyre increases, most people choose to fit lower sports springs at the same time to remedy this slight cosmetic imbalance.
